What a poker solver actually is
A poker solver is a program that computes a game-theory-optimal strategy for a spot you define: the board, both ranges, the stack depth and the bet sizes you allow. It runs an equilibrium-finding algorithm (counterfactual regret minimisation) until neither side can improve by deviating, then hands you the frequencies and EV for every hand in the range. That is a different thing from an equity calculator, which only tells you who is ahead right now.
Solver vs pre-solved library
Most tools sold as solvers are libraries: someone else ran the solves and you browse the results. That is fast and cheap, and it works right up until the spot you actually played is not in the library — an unusual bet size, a stack depth between presets, a limped multiway pot.
