Why You Need Preflop Charts

Preflop decisions are the foundation of your entire strategy. Using GTO-based charts eliminates guesswork and ensures you're playing a proven, profitable range from every position.

RFI (Raise First In) Ranges

UTG (~15% of hands)

Open: AA-77, AKo-ATo, KQo, AKs-A9s, KQs-KTs, QJs-QTs, JTs Fold: Everything else

HJ (~18%)

Add: 66, A9o, KJo, Q9s, J9s, T9s

CO (~25%)

Add: 55-22, A8o-A5o, KTo, QJo, K9s-K7s, Q9s, J9s, T8s, 98s, 87s, 76s

BTN (~40-45%)

Add: A4o-A2o, K9o-K5o, Q9o-Q8o, J9o-J8o, T9o, most suited cards, all suited connectors

SB (~35%)

Slightly tighter than BTN since you're always OOP postflop. Prefer 3-betting over flat calling.

3-Bet Ranges (vs EP/MP Open)

Your Position Value 3-Bet Bluff 3-Bet
vs UTG QQ+, AKs A5s-A4s, occasional KQs
vs HJ QQ+, AKs, AKo A5s-A3s, KJs, occasional suited connectors
vs CO JJ+, AKs, AKo, AQs A5s-A2s, KQs, suited connectors
vs BTN TT+, AQs+, AKo A5s-A2s, KJs+, QJs, suited connectors

Defending vs 3-Bet

When you open and face a 3-bet:

  • 4-Bet value: QQ+, AKs (vs most positions)
  • 4-Bet bluff: A5s, A4s (blocks AA)
  • Call: JJ-99, AQs, AQo, KQs, suited broadways
  • Fold: Most offsuit hands, weak suited hands

How to Use These Charts

  1. Don't memorize blindly — understand WHY each hand is in the range
  2. Adjust to opponents — tighter vs 3-bettors, wider vs passive blinds
  3. Practice with drills — use DEEPFOLD's RFI Training for muscle memory
